Mother Salma Khan Leaves Salman Speechless On Farah’s Show!

July 28th, 2009 by Sarika Sood |

image The casanova of Bollywood, Salman Khan, recently had to face some embarrassment at Farah Khan’s show ‘Tere Mere Beech Mein,’ where the stud came along with his parents.

Apparently, Salman was left speechless when his mother Salma Khan took all the limelight when she started revealing the unknown secrets of the actor’s life, which were really personal. Salman was in such a difficult situation that he didn’t know what to say and where to look.

The audience was literally enjoying the show, as the actor’s mother started revealing the unknown facts of Salu’s affair with Bollywood actresses. Salma revealed that whenever Salman falls in love with an actress, he wants her to give up everything and become a home-maker.

When this fact was out, Salman’s face completely turned red. Hmmmm.. At least now we all know why Katrina Kaif has been avoiding marriage with Salman.

A member from audience said: “Though it started off as a Salman Khan show, it was soon evident that the star was Salma Aunty. She was candid and natural and stole the show from her superstar son.

In fact, halfway through the taping, it felt less like a show and more like we had been invited into their home. She broke so many of Salman’s bhaandas that at one point an embarrassed Salman actually didn’t know where to look even as the audience was very amused.”

My Brother Salman Like Never Before In Dabang

July 28th, 2009 by Sarika Sood |

image Salman’s other brother Arbaaz is turning producer. And he wants to make sure he will present his star-bro Salman like never before. Hence while Sohail has been producing all the cool-dude Hello Brother type of slick flicks for Salman, Arbaaz is taking Salman comoletely out of his comfort zone in Arbaaz Khan Productions’ Dabang, which means fearless.

And fearless is what Arbaaz and Salman intend to be in Dabang. The film to be directed by Anurag’s brother Abhinav Kashyap will feature Salman as a boorish uncouth corrupt cop in a Noth Indian town of Bihar or Uttar Pradesh.

For the first time in his career Salman will be discarding his dude-with-an-attitude persona to play a protagonist who is reprehensibly corrupt in nature uncouth in appearance. This would be Saif’s Omkara with the law on its side.

Yes Salman did play a smalltown goon in Tere Naam. But never scruffy and unwashed with such vengeance. Salman will also have to master a Bihari-UP dialect for the first time. According to sources the look will echo Abhishek Bachchan’s North Indian goonda act in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan.

Arbaaz Khan who is holidaying with wife and son in London says, “The idea is to not just cast Salman because he’s my brother. But to cast him in a role that he has never done before.

Dabang is a new challenge for me. When Abhinav came to offer me a role in the script I immediately wanted to produce the film. For long I had been toying with the idea of turning producer. This was just the excuse I needed to take the plunge.”

Arbaaz does have a role in Dabang. But the main part is of course Salman’s. Says Arbaaz, “It isn’t as if I’ve deliberately set out to do something different with Salman from what Sohail does. But trust me, this will be a Salman Khan his fans have never seen. No point in turning producer if I can’t cast my superstar-brother in a challenging role.”

About casting Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi Arbaaz says, “There’s no point in casting a heroine who’s already been seen four times with Salman. I wanted to cast a stunning new girl and Sonakshi fitted the bill. She has lost a lot of weight. She still needs to lose a little more.”

Sony Gives Extension To Salman Khan’s Dus Ka Dum

July 27th, 2009 by Sarika Sood |

image Most actors have found it difficult to sustain a long innings on television, but not so Salman Khan. The actor has just been informed that his show Dus Ka Dum has got an extension to shoot for a further 13 more weeks. Sony Entertainment Television has been fighting a losing battle with the audiences for some time now.

But Salman Khan’s Dus Ka Dum, a show that is telecast at 9 pm on weekends, has found a huge favour amongst the audience and is ranked seventh in the top ten shows on television. Giving in to popular demand, the show has been awarded an extension.

Salman Khan, the host of the show, confirmed the news to Businessofcinema.com and said, “Yes, Dus Ka Dum has been given an extension. Surprisingly more than the celebrity episodes, it is the episodes with the common man that has been liked more by the audiences.”

From doodhwalas to jyotishes, the show features a cross section of the Indian public who can try their luck at the percentage game, which ensures a winning of Rs 10 crore on getting all the answers correct. But more than the concept, it is the charisma of Salman that is winning audiences to tune in to the show.

Salman added, “Dealing with the people is so fun. They are genuine and their questions are always direct from the heart.” Perhaps it is this direct dil se connection that has got Salman to continue his innings as a host.

Govinda Turns to Good Friend Sallu

July 27th, 2009 by Varun |

image Govinda is absolutely shaken by the dismal box office results of his last release, “Money Hai To Honey Hai”. And, this time again he apparently turned to his good friend Salman Khan to rescue him. According to sources, Govinda was very happy with the success of “Partner”, but that proved short-lived. His subsequent films did not do well at all. So he has made up his mind to work only with big names.

To begin with, he reportedly went to Salman Khan and requested him to given him a role in his under production film “Veer”. “Veer” is written by Salman who is also acting in it. Salman was ready to make a room for Govinda and give him a role in the movie. He also had a word with director Anil Sharma to work out a role for Govinda, but unfortunately Anil refused saying that there was no suitable role for Govinda. So as of now Govinda has not been rescued!

Elephants, Lions Scared Of Salman

July 24th, 2009 by Sarika Sood |

image As we have seen in golden heydays of Hindi Cinema; the hero fights with a lion and saves the girl to pataofy her, which is then followed by their love track and a happily ever-after. It seems now, that era is revisiting us, as the directors are busy packing old wine in a new bottle to impress the audiences.

Well we are talking about the upcoming flick of Salman Khan- Veer, which has been in talks for reasons more than one. The recent buzz is that Sallu will be fighting with a lion in the film! Good Lord save the Lion, where is PETA? Sallu is an animal near animals! ”

After fighting with an elephant in the movie, Salman is now all geared up for a fight sequence with a lion, where he saves his girl (Miss UK Universe, Lisa Lazarus) in the ghana jungle,” adds the source. Sallu Miya, we wonder wassup with all those animals, is Veer a Hindi version of Tarzan or what?

Anyhow, the shooting of the same will take place in a wild forest, abroad. “Sallu is well prepared to go ahead with the shoot. He is not at all nervous about it and has been getting the knowledge of how to tackle Lions. The precautionary measures are well taken care of by the team,” adds the sources.

What about the precautionary measures for the Lion? Looks like Sallu Miya’s animal magnetism scared off all the men, so now poor animals have to fight him off; perfect situation of war between beauty and the beast.
